The Medium is coming to PS5 in digital and physical editions, including support for the DualSense controller's unique characteristics. We already knew this because of a leaked ESRB rating, but now we have official confirmation from the studio.
Bloober Team's psychological horror game was initially intended to be an Xbox console exclusive, and it was released in January on Xbox Series X/S and PC. However, we now know that The Medium will be released on PS5 on September 3rd. This is also the first time the game will be accessible in physical form, with the boxed version available for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
Bloober says that The Medium on PS5 would have "complete DualSense support" in a press release. Because of DualSense's haptic feedback, you may anticipate feeling a variety of different vibrational frequencies. At the same time, the controller's adaptive triggers will simulate the experience of interacting with various items and executing multiple tasks. Some games, such as Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade, only have partial DualSense compatibility, so hearing that The Medium will have both adjustable triggers and haptic feedback support is encouraging.
If you like psychological horror, you should certainly check out The Medium if you haven't already. While GamesRadar's review of The Medium isn't glowing, others, including our sister site PC Gamer, found plenty to enjoy.
The Medium puts you in command of Marianne, a spiritual medium who can walk around and interact with both the spirit plane and the realm of the living. Traveling between worlds, examining clues, and solving puzzles are all part of the game's gameplay in quest of the truth behind a little girl's terrible death. For example, one well-known mechanic goes to the ghostly realm to take power from a spirit well, which he then uses to power fuse boxes in the actual world to open doors.
